AfterCare

So you got a sick new tattoo...

Day 1

Keep your tattoo covered

with the applied bandage for at least 2 hours, & until you arrive home & drink a big glass of water, homie.

Wash your hands FIRST

with liquid antibacterial soap before cleaning or touching your tattoo.

Gently remove bandage

It may be a little sticky or juicy with plasma, ink, & blood, which is normal.

Gently wash away the bandage liquid using your hand, a small amount of antibacterial soap, and warm, running water. Do NOT scrub - it'll hurt like hell & it may also damage the tattoo.

Pat Dry with a paper towel

Apply a thin layer of aquaphor or preferred ointment and keep clear of scum.

*PRO TIP Use fresh sheets, towels, & clean clothes over the tattooed spot during the first week.

Day 2-4

Feeling a little... Sensitive? Tender?

Thats normal. Time for your tattoo healing regimen.

Wash your tattoo first wash thine hands. Use warm water, a little antibacterial soap, and your hand to gently clean the tattoo. Rise well.

Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Apply a thin layer of ointment

(Aquaphor or ointments made specifically for tattoos).

Repeat 3 times per day if possible.

Redness, soreness, and sometimes warmth is normal.

If you're wearing a dermal bandage, leave it on. If it's very filled with liquid, itches badly, or you notice a skin reaction, take it off and do the steps above.

Day 5+

If wearing a dermal bandage, remove and wash your tattoo. If not, wash your tattoo.

Wash tattoo 1-2 times per day and keep it moisturized with an unscented, gentle lotion. Try to keep it covered with clothing if possible.

Anyday now that tattoo is going to start to itch, peel, and possibly scab. Do not itch or pick. Continue to mosturize but do not drown it in lotion. It's just doing its healing thing.

You can swim 2-4 weeks after the date of the tattoo. Absolutely no hot tubs.

Wear sunscreen on your art after healing to keep it looking good.
